Washington (September 26, 2014, 5:14 PM ET) -- An Alabama federal judge
on Friday refused to toss a putative class action against Flowers
Hospital over an employee's theft of sensitive patient information,
giving the plaintiffs an opportunity to amend their claims.
In a short
order to the parties, U.S. District Judge W. Keith Watkins told the
five named plaintiffs in the suit against the Alabama hospital to file a
second amended complaint with the court over their allegations that an
unidentified third party used their Social Security numbers to file
phony tax returns....
