Several banks in the Morehead area are issuing new debit cards
to their customers after Dairy Queen corporate reported being a victim
of a data breach.
The national company confirmed the breach earlier this month but didn't disclose how many stores were affected.
“We are gathering information from a
number of sources, including law enforcement, credit card companies and
processors,” Dairy Queen said in a statement. “The protection of
customer data is a top priority for us and our franchisees, and we take
it seriously.”
In Morehead, The Citizens Bank has
reissued more than 90 new cards and Whitaker Bank has reproduced more
than 30 due to the breach.
